ABG secures AHTS order
ABG Shipyard Ltd in India has secured an order worth Rs 127 crore ($30 million) from Marnavi Spa, Italy, for the construction of a 130 tonne bollard pull AHTS vessel with a deadweight of 2,500 tonnes and a length of 72 metres. This is the first contract signed with the Italian company which owns a total fleet of 27 ships consisting of petrochemical tankers and offshore supply vessels.
ABG has also bagged an order for the construction of a research vessel from the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) to be used by the National Institute of Oceanography. The value of the contract is approximately Rs 178 crore. CSIR is an organisation with a mission to provide scientific industrial R&D that maximises the economic, environmental and social benefits for the people in India.
