Kailing starts building China?s first cable-layer

Chinese shipbuilding has taken another step towards extending its capabilities with news that Zhejiang Kailing Shipyard is embarking on building the country?s first cable-layer for Zhejiang Zhoushan Electric Power Company. The ship, to be named Zhoudian No.7 is being designed by Zhejiang Seahead Ship Design and Research Institute and will take 16 months to build.
