Simon M?kster and Simek choose Havyard again
Simon M?kster Shipping in Norway has signed contract with Simek AS for building of one more Havyard 832 CD RS Rescue and Stand by vessel for delivery in March 2010. This will be a sister ship to the one ordered by Simon M?kster Shipping in November last year which is slated for delivery in October 2009.
To be built at the Havyard Leirvik shipyard, the 78.60 metre long and 17.60 metre wide vessel will cost over 320 million NOK ($55 million). In addition to PSV functions, the 4,000 DWT Havyard 832 CD RS is developed for rescue, stand by and oil pollution control operations. The design is based on the Havyard 832 CD and is developed in close cooperation between Simon M?kster Shipping and Havyard Design, the design company within the Havyard Group. The Havyard 832 CD is a medium size PSV fulfilling the new requirements from the market by offering bigger capacities, better fuel economy and is more environmentally friendly than existing medium size PSVs.
