Odense delivers another blue boxship

Odense Steel Shipyard in Denmark named its latest newbuilding, a 7,000 TEU container ship, for the A.P. Moller – Maersk Group. Named MARIT M?RSK, she is the fifth ship in a series of six container ships and is designed and built to meet the highest demands for safe, precise, environmentally friendly and economic transportation of goods all over the globe. Among other things, a waste heat recovery system is installed to optimise the use of the energy produced.

To minimize the fuel consumption and thereby CO2 emissions the 12-cylinder Wärtsilä RT-flex diesel engine has been optimised for a more efficient and economical service speed. The propulsion machinery onboard the vessel develops 84,000 BHP.
