Damen launches twin ferries

Damen Shipyards Gorinchem has completed two Damen Fast Ferries 4212 at the Afai Southern Shipyard in China. Singapore-owned Bintan Resort Ferries ordered both catamaran ferries which have been named ?Wan Sendari? and ?Wan Seri Beni?. Sea trials for both vessels are planned in the second half of January 2009. After delivery in the first week of April 2009 in Singapore, both vessels will sail between Singapore and the coast of Bintan, Indonesia.

Currently Damen is building two other Damen Fast Ferries 4212 at Afai Shipyard and ten Damen Fast Ferries 3207 in cooperation with Afai Shipyard. All 32-metre ferries were ordered by the Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai. RTA also ordered ten Damen Fast Ferries 1004, which will be completed at Damen Shipyards Gorinchem in the Netherlands.
