STX Europe Lorient shipyard in Brittany, France, has just delivered the first of three Ro-Ro ferries to Tide Sj? AS in Oslo. The Lorient shipyard designs and builds high-tech ships from 30 to 120 metres long.

Named ‘Tidekongen’, this double-ended LNG powered ferry can carry 600 passengers and will be followed by two sisterships named ‘Tidedronningen’ and ‘Tideprinzen’ scheduled for delivery later this month and in June. These newbuildings will operate on the service between Oslo and the peninsula of Nesodden (Norway).

STX Europe is a member of ‘Bretagne Pole Naval’, an association of 60 maritime sector operators in West France and Brittany regions. The association is attending NorShipping next month.
