Havyard secures AHTS order

The Havyard Group, Norway, has signed a contract with Smart Shipinvest to build a Havyard 848 SMART AHTS with an option for one additional vessel. The first vessel will be delivered in the fourth quarter of 2011 while the option vessel would have a delivery date in the second quarter of 2012.

The vessel will be equipped with the anchor handling concept ODIM Smart AHTSTM. The Havyard 848 SMART concept represents considerable cost savings, increased safety and savings to the environment for owner, rig operator and oil company. The vessel measures 110m in overall length on a 26m beam and will be able to achieve a bollard pull of 350 tonnes. The newbuilding will be equipped with a 500-tonne AHTS winch and a 150-tonne offshore crane.
