EAS holds first keel laying ceremony

The Brazilian shipyard Atl?ntico Sul Shipyard (EAS) held its first keel laying ceremony earlier this month when it commenced the construction of a Suezmax oil tanker, the first of the Transpetro fleet modernization and expansion programme.

The keel laying ceremony involved the 150 tonne central section of the ship being positioned in the dry dock and the newbuilding is slated for completion in April 2010.
