Imabari delivers first Norden product tanker

Dampskibsselskabet NORDEN A/S, an independent Danish shipowner operating a fleet of tankers and bulk carriers, has taken delivery of the first in a series of six new medium range (MR) product tankers built by Japan?s Imabari Shipbuilding.

Named ‘Nord Imagination’, the 48,006 dwt MR product tanker was built at the Iwagi Zosen Shipyard, one of eight yards in the Seto Inland Sea region which together form Imabari Shipbuilding. The newbuilding will enter the Norient Product Pool and undertake her maiden voyage to Singapore for her first assignment with one of the pool?s regular clients.

The five sister ships in the series will all be delivered in 2010 and will be given I-names honouring their origin at Imabari Shipbuilding.
