Niigata engines power Japanese Coast Guard vessels

The Japanese engine manufacturer, Niigata Powers Systems, has received an order for 22 sets of high-speed diesel engine to power new patrol vessels for the Japanese Coast Guard.

The compact and lightweight 6V20FX engines produce 3,690 kW power output and comply with IMO Tier 2 regulations. The total contract price is $3.5 million and all engines are to be delivered by end November 2011.
