Nasco orders Supramax bulkers

A Nasco source said that the company is still hungry for more newbuildings. He said: “We have booked three and will book another in a few months. We are looking at maybe another five Supramaxes. We have the funding in place for this.”

Nasco has reportedly purchased two Supramax resales this year that were originally ordered by Greece’s Evalend Shipping in 2007 for $34 million each. The company was said to have picked up the 57,000 dwt bulker

and suggested a price of $31m. The vessels are under construction at Qinshan Shipyard in Wuhan in Hubei province.
