The Kaohsiung based shipbuilder handed over two 6,600 TEU vessels and one 4,200 TEU vessel in a ceremony that marked the first time the shipbuilder has delivered three vessels on the same day.

The Hamburg-based firm has ordered a total of six of the larger vessels and six of the smaller vessels and, to date, CSC has delivered three of each. The shipbuilder, a former loss-making state enterprise, has made profits since it was privatized at the end of 2008.

Last year, it built 11 container ships and was scheduled to build 16 vessels in 2010. The company said it has received 44 orders from domestic and foreign shipping lines, enough to keep it busy until 2013.
