The 46,286 dwt chemical tanker NCC Damman

NCC claims the 75,000 dwt newbuilding will be the largest of its kind, and will be classed by DNV with full (IMO 2) notations and cargo capacity of 86,000m3 comprising 31 fully segregated coated cargo tanks. Delivery expected during 2013 and NCC has the option for a second vessel to be declared at a later date.

The vessel will be commercially operated with another sister ship by “NCC ODFJELL Chemical Tankers JLT”, located in Dubai and owned jointly by NCC and its long term strategic partner Odfjell SE of Norway. Odfjell had also contracted a similar ship with DSME for delivery during 2013, in addition to option for a second vessel.

NCC currently owns a fleet of 13 vessels that are specialized in transporting chemicals, vegoils and clean petroleum products with a total dwt capacity of nearly 600,000 tonnes.

In addition, NCC has 14 vessels on order in Korea with deliveries over the next three years, which will bring total fleet size to nearly 30 vessels and 1.3 million dwt.
