MSN’s prototype fuel cell installation

The first prototype system is rated at 8kW and is based on Nedstack PEM fuel cells. It has been installed in a former life boat to prove the system is capable of handling rough conditions encountered in small boats, and testing has been undertaken during summer 2010. On completion of trials MSN plans to build and test a 60 kW system.

The company is also working on a fuel cell system to power a passenger vessel, Nemo H2, which will be operating as a tourist craft on the canals of Amsterdam.
