DKB to focus on ship repair
DKB president director Riry Syeried Jetta told reporters the ship repair business was chosen because of its viability. The company expects the business to contribute between 50 and 60% of its total revenue this year. “Last year, the ship repair business only contributed up to 40% of revenue,” he said.
The company’s current work load has exceeded by 20%, forcing shipowners to wait at least one month for repairs to be carried out. The new shipyard will be able to serve vessels up to 80,000 dwt and Riry said the relocation would require Rp 600 billion ($67.3 million) in investment.
