LNGs are Navantia

The figures for 2010 show a substantial increase in comparison with the previous year, going from 24 LNG contracts to 30 representing a 25% increase. Other than usual docking and repair work, Navantia carried out specific LNG related work involving steam propulsion units, cargo containment systems, cryogenic equipment, surface treatment, structural renewals, mechanical repairs and overhauls, system and equipment tests.

According to the company, prospects for 2011 are reasonably positive and the activity level in terms of gas carrier repairs seems to be in line with last year’s and no major increase is envisaged. Ferrol carried out four LNG and one LPG repair projects in January 2011, while Cadiz worked on one LNG and two LPG projects in the same period.

In addition to LNG work, Cadiz specialises in the repairs of cruiseships and has signed four fleet agreements comprising Iberocruceros-Costa Crociere, Celebrity Cruise, Royal Caribbean International and MSC Cruceros. The 1987 built 47,262gt
