HHI, which claims to be the world’s biggest shipbuilder, said that the agreement includes an option for four additional sister ships. The ships will be 332m in length, 482 m in width and 26.8m in depth, and are designed to be able to carry containers 1ft (0.3m) taller than conventional containers. Reefer container capacity is 1,700 TEU, which the yard says is 1,000 more than other ships of the same class.

Delivery is scheduled for May 2013 to January 2014. HHI says that so far in 2011 its shipbuilding division has won orders for 13 ships valued at $3.4 billion, achieving 49% of its new order target.
