Sheet material for marine ceiling panels
The company says that the news product is less easily damaged than regular panels during handling in production and on site. It is scratch resistant, avoiding repainting and repairing damaged surfaces, and the colour and glossiness are intended to be stable.
Dobel Ocean Sky is especially developed for ceilings where robust surfaces and fire classifications are required. It consists of a 100 µm thick PVC film laminated onto hot-dip galvanized steel sheet, and covered with a protective film that can be removed after mounting. It can be supplied as coils, cut-to-length sheets or as slit strip and is approved by class societies as a fire classified material according to IMO FTP code annex 1 part 2 and 5.
“Metalcolour supplies both painted as well as laminated sheet steel for the maritime industry. Thanks to Dobel Ocean Sky, laminated sheet steel is, for the first time, becoming a serious cost efficient alternative for ceilings, offering highest quality, longer durability and colour stability.”, says the newly appointed group CEO Ingemar Forsberg.
