GL launches Korean language website

GL says that new sub-site serves as a platform to showcase its major maritime and classification services, such as ship newbuilding, fleet services, maritime systems and components, and maritime solutions. The site also gives existing and potential clients convenient access to GL’s rules and guidelines, as well as a variety of GL tools designed to increase work efficiency. Clients will be kept up to date on GL’s activities through event notifications and publications.

Alongside GL’s German, English and Chinese language websites, this new venture is said to reflect GL’s commitment to its international client base, and its recognition of the importance of its partnerships in Asia.

GL recalls that it opened its first Korean office in Busan in 1977, followed by stations established in Ulsan, Geoje Island, Busan and Mokpo, branches in Daegu and Seoul. Today, a total of 149 staff members work for GL Korea, including surveyors and plan approvers, offering services focused on ship newbuilding, classification, maritime systems and components and fleet in service.
