‘Karianne’ has at last found a home at Island Offshore

The SX121 vessel Karianne had been completed on schedule at Ulstein Verft in the fourth quarter of 2010. It was originally contracted by shipping company Marine Subsea, which could not to take delivery after completion. The 120m long, 25m wide diesel electric-powered ship can accommodate 100 persons, and is fitted with a tower for module handling, moonpool, ROV hangar, offshore crane and helipad. It is equipped with the Ulstein Com and Ulstein IAS communication and automation systems.

Ulstein CEO Gunvor Ulstein says she is very pleased that this advanced construction vessel will be in the hands of an experienced and established shipping company. “More and more oil installations are now seabed facilities, and we’re seeing an increasing demand for subsea and construction vessels. We are confident that Island Offshore will benefit from this vessel’s performance,” says Ulstein.
