New strategic engine service partnership

The partnership is focused on providing reliable and OEM-compliant repair and service for a range of existing diesel engines and new high tech service products being introduced to the merchant marine market. The agreement appoints Goltens as Tekomar’s exclusive shiprepair partner for service and routine maintenance of engines and gives Tekomar access to Goltens’ worldwide pool of skilled engineers and repair technicians. Tekomar specialises in modern two-stroke and four-stroke diesel engines and the partnership believes that this, combined with Goltens’ experience and expertise in diesel engine and in-situ machining services, gives the market a leading independent solution, tailored to the operational needs of shipowners.

According to Goltens and Tekomar, today’s monopoly situation where engine OEMs demand full control of after sales, spare parts and repair activities is a cost disadvantage to the ship owner.
