New heavy lift ordered in Croatia

The new ship will have a length of 152.6m and a beam of 27.4m and will be equipped with two 1,100ton cranes (at 27.5m outreach). The company claims that this will make it the strongest heavy lift vessel yet. It will be built to ice class to enable operations in the Arctic , and will be prepared for future DP2 installation.

Estimated delivery date of the new vessel is March 2013, which a scheduled entry into service in June 2013. The contract includes an option for a second ship. This will give Jumbo a fleet of 13 (14 should the option be exercised) with lifting capacity in the range of 500ton to 2,200ton.
