Two-AHTS order for Singapore builder
The contracts are to build and outfit two AHTS vessels, 92m long and 22m wide, are in addition to the existing four-AHTS shipbuilding contract with Swire, announced in June 2011. For the new contracts, Swire will supply a larger proportion of the major equipment for ST Marine’s integration and installation. Construction will commence in 2013.
These two ships will adopt the latest DP technology and will be Special Purpose Ship 2008 compliant. They will have large tank capacities and clear deck space of about 650m2 for other offshore applications. They are due for delivery in the second and third quarters of 2014 when they supporting semi-submersible rigs operating in deep water environments.
