Naming and delivery ceremony for ‘Ore Sao Luis’

Ore Sao Luis was built at the Universal Shipbuilding Corporation, Ariake Shipyard in Japan. She is 327m length oa, 55m beam with a 21.4m draught. She will sail under the Liberia flag. MOL operates a class of six 300,000dwt VLOCs in total, including Ore Sao Luis.

Among those on hand for the naming and delivery ceremonies were Vale International general manager, shipping, Pietro Allevato, who named the vessel, and Universal Shipbuilding director and senior managing officer Kuniteru Ishikawa. The ship’s name is derived from the capital and largest city in Maranhão state in Brazil.
