Order for new-generation BWTS

The CMM order is OceanSaver’s first contract for the Mark II BWT system in Greece and also the company’s first contract in the chemical tanker segment. The CMM Mark II system features high performance filtration technology, installed in a weather-protected housing on deck, and an electrolytic C2E unit in the engine casing area. Together with CCM, OceanSaver technicians solved the challenges of submerged ballast pumps integrated into OceanSaver’s BWT loop. OceanSaver says it takes a modular approach, offering shipowners the opportunity to mix and match a range of equipment, materials, designs, and features to match the BWT system to the job at hand.

Kostas Vlachos, COO for CMM, says that the company evaluated competing brands and settled on, OceanSaver: “The Mark II’s small footprint, affordable price, safe operation, reliability and low maintenance costs were important considerations for CMM,” he says. “We have had good experience with Norwegian suppliers in the past and are confident that OceanSaver will meet our expectations.”

Tor Atle Eiken, OceanSaver’s senior vice president, sales & marketing welcomed CMM to the growing OceanSaver family of customers operating vessels in the 35.000 to 80.000dwt range. “Over the past six months, new technology Mark II has emerged as a strong competitor in the medium sized vessel market,” he says. According to Eiken, shipowners will benefit from Mark II’s substantial component downsizing, easier maintenance and cost savings over the life of the system.
