Kleven delivers Eidesvik gas-fuelled OSV

Viking Prince has a deck area of more than 1,050m², and running on gas, the engines ensure low NOX emissions (85% reduction) and reduced CO2 emissions (by about 25%). A ballast water treatment system is installed. Eidesvik has entered into a charter agreement with Lundin Norway for the vessel.

Eidesvik Offshore has several LNG-fuelled ships in its fleet, including the world’s first LNG powered supply vessel, Viking Energy, delivered from Kleven in 2003. Kleven Maritime claims to be Norway’s largest Norwegian-owned shipbuilding group, and has delivered a total ofsix gas-fuelled ships, including three coastguard vessels, and has two more LNG powered offshore vessels in its order book. The next LNG vessel to be delivered from Kleven Yard will be Viking Prince’s sister vessel, which is due to be completed in September 2012.
