The conference will provide ship owners, managers and operators with solutions and answers to ensure fleets comply with the 0.1% sulphur limits coming into force in ECAs from 2015.

The programme will feature opening speeches from the German Federal Ministry of Transport and Shipping, The European Commission and The Marine Environment Protection Committee, IMO. Keynote speeches will be by Maximilian Strotmann, Cabinet of Vice President Siim Kallas, European Commission, and Andreas Chrysostomou, Chairman MEPC, IMO.

These will be followed by technical presentations providing options and solutions on how to comply, alongside operators’ sessions giving an overview of preparations, challenges and pilot projects already in force.

Castrol Marine has just been confirmed as the Gold Sponsor for 2012 and will be presenting its latest research and development on cylinder oils – one of the many relevant topics for the conference theme this year – Are you ready for 2015?

The conference is a must attend event for anybody dealing with the technical aspects of ship operation, fuel and lubricant issues and emission control technologies.

Ship operators and owners are offered preferential rates to attend, and attending companies already include: Nordic Tankers from Denmark, Smyril Line from the Faroe Islands, Uniteam from Germany, and Vroon from the Netherlands.
