Eidesvik and Ugland orders for Kleven

The SALT 301 OCV-and SALT 100 PSV will both be built at Kleven Verft in Ulsteinvik, Norway. Both contracts include options for a further vessel of the same type.

The Eidesvik OCV will be of around 13,500dwt, of 145m length, width 31m, and with accommodation for 150 persons. Two large offshore cranes, one of 400tonnes and one of 100tonnes crane, will be installed. Delivery is scheduled for the second quarter of 2014. Eidesvik and Kleven Maritime have worked together on complex projects before, as pioneers in building the first LNG powered offshore supply vessel, Viking Energy, in 2003. In March 2012, Kleven delivered the LNG powered Viking Prince, and in June Eidesvik will take delivery of sister vessel Viking Princess.

Kleven Maritime signs PSV contract with Ugland Offshore

The Ugland Offshore PSV is set to be delivered from Kleven in early 2014. Currently Kleven’s Myklebust Verft yard has a PSV of VS 485 MK II design under construction for Ugland, to be delivered inJune 2012. The new vessel is 88.9m long, 20m in width and with accommodation for 24 persons. The Salt 100 design includes a number of new solutions, to meet oil companies’ current PSV requirements for improved operating costs, safety and greater efficiency. Fuel consumption is low, and the vessel will be the first of its kind to incorporate a new, more efficient cargo handling solution.

Kleven Maritime says its current order book comprises 12 vessels with a total value of around 6billion NOK.
