Tankers gain ECDIS from Transas

Bergen-based Jo Tankers is putting in the new ECDIS as part of an upgrade for three vessels, a retrofit onboard 11 vessels and six planned newbuilds. All vessels will be equipped with dual 26’’ Navi-Sailor 4000 ECDIS Premium multifunction display, radar overlay and firewall. Some vessels will utilise Transas’ recently launched Pay-As-You-Sail chart solution for (S)ENC.

In addition, almost 100 seafarers will receive Transas Type-Specific ECDIS training in Manila, Philippines.

On another note, following an agreement between Transas Marine and the State Hydrographic Service of Ukraine, Transas’ TX-97 non-official chart collection now includes Ukrainian charts.

Unusually, this is the first time that Inland ENC’s were used to produce TX-97 folios. The State Hydrographic Service of Ukraine has provided 158 Inland ENC’s and 114 ENC’s covering territorial waters. The TX-97 folios cover Black Sea, the Danube River (Ukrainian territory) and Dnipro River.
