'Z-TECH 6500 ICDAS 19'

ICDAS specially designed the tug for operation in major ports and marine terminals. The 369gt Z-Tech 6500 has an overall length of 27.4m and a bollard pull of 65t. Its deck machinery includes a 35t line pull, hydraulic winch, which has a maximum brake holding capacity of 130t. The main propulsion of the vessel comes from two MTU 16v4000M63 engines which are driven by a pair of Rolls Royce US 250 FP azimuth thrusters.

The vessel has also been fitted with a remotely operated fire monitor, featuring four additional two inch hydrants for external fire fighting when it is in operation as a ship berthing tug – offering safe ship handling operations with large ships, especially those with extreme flames.

When tested, the vessel surpassed all performance expectations with a full bollard pull of 65t, a speed of 13.7 knots at 83% MCR, 23.4m³ fuel consumption at 100% MCR and endured five days at full power.

The new tug was built in house and will be operated under the parent company, ICDAS Celik Enerji Tersane ve Ulasim AS, in Turkey.
