The AHTS vessel, which can accommodate a total of 37 people, was designed by Norwegian company, Havyard Design AS. The tug supply vessel has a bollard pull of over 200 tonnes and is powered by four engines together with an azimuth thruster and four tunnel thrusters. The Pacific Defiance has also been equipped with a Main Towing Winch, CHDs and secondary winches with an Anchor Recovery Frame which enables it to meet anchor handling requirements.

Khamis Juma Buamim, chairman, Drydocks World and Maritime World, said: “We are proud that the team was able to meet the productivity targets and launch the vessel ahead of schedule. This has been largely possible due to the commitment and project management expertise of our technical team. We are on track to meet the requirements of the offshore service sector.”

The ABS classified vessel was built at Drydocks’ Singapore facility in the Tuas basin for Singapore based Swire Pacific Offshore.
