DeepOcean to charter new OSCV
Rem Ship will build the vessel at the Kleven shipyard in Norway. The newbuild, which will measure 108m in length with a beam of 22m, is a MT6022 design by Marin Teknikk.
It will be equipped with an AHC offshore crane and two work class ROVs and launch and recovery systems. According to the yard, this is one of the largest ships the Kleven shipyard in Ulsteinvik has built.
Mads Bårdsen, president, DeepOcean AS, said: “Taking on the MT6022 for eight years is a big commitment to DeepOcean, and shows our clear intention of providing our clients with modern assets and excellent performance also in the future.”
He added: “The new build will add capacity and support our ambition to continue providing high standard services.”
DeepOcean already charters the Rem Forza from Rem Ship, a similar vessel which was also built by the Kleven yard in 2008.
The vessel is expected to be delivered in early 2014.
