Further orders for emissions monitors
The company believes that the latest contracts, said to be worth over $1million, puts it in a market-leading position in the supply of emissions monitoring systems. The Emsys system features laser based multi-gas sensors and an integral PM sensor. WR says that its PM sensor, which allows measurement of soot and particulates outside of the exhaust stack, is the first such product to receive a patent.
WR president Dave Edwards said: “We are now working with the world’s largest shipbuilders in Korea, China and Japan, in addition to oil majors, drilling contractors, cruise ship operators, containership operators, LNG operators and scrubber manufacturers amongst others. Our success in supporting suppliers of scrubber systems has meant we are becoming the de-facto standard for these applications.”
Mr Edwards pointed out that Emsys was developed to demonstrate that it is possible to design a robust high-tech sensor which overcomes the traditional reliability and maintenance issues with first generation-EMS systems.
