P&E Conference taking shape

The annual conference, which is now in its 35th year, will be entitled Are you ready for 2015 and beyond? and will focus on the ECA regulations, as well as SEEMP and EEDI.

This year’s keynote speech will be given by Hideaki Saito, director for International Regulations and MILT. Mr Saito, who is head of Japanese Delegation to the IMO/MEPC, is currently in charge of all maritime environmental issues including the GHG emissions from ships and ballast water management.

Also confirmed for the conference are some of the industry’s main organisations including the Danish Shipowners’ Association, Danish Maritime, BIMCO, SSA and the International Bunker Industry Association, which will present on the sector’s technical solutions and financial benefits of complying with the 2015 legislation.

The conference will be held on 24-25 April 2013 at the Hilton Copenhagen Airport Hotel. The 2013 programme is due to be released shortly.
