Another Rem Offshore order for Kleven

The ship will be to the Marin Teknikk MT6022 L design, following on from Rem’s experience with the similar Kleven-built Rem Clough, delivered in 2006. It will be the fifth such vessel Kleven has built for the Herøy based shipowner; the yard says that Rem Offshore has ordered a total of 16 vessels from Kleven since 2006. This latest contract brings Kleven’s current orderbook up to 14, with a total value of around 7.4 billion NOK

“We have an excellent cooperation with Kleven, and know that the vessels we build with them will be quality vessels delivered on time,” ship owner Åge Remøy said. ‘We believe the market for this type of vessels will be strong in the future, and have secured long term contracts for two of the three construction vessels now on order.’

“It is always a pleasure signing new contracts with a solid partner like Rem Offshore,’ said Ståle Rasmussen, CEO of Kleven. “Kleven delivered the LNG powered supply vessel Rem Leader to Rem Offshore in January this year, and we now have three construction vessels for Rem in our order book. Delivery for these three vessels is set to June 2013, February 2014 and the second quarter of 2014.”
