Hyde Guardian BWTS for Russian icebreaker
The system will be installed on the Russian 22600 project, a 25 MWh power diesel vessel, which is due to be delivered in 2015 and installed at the Baltic Shipyard.
The fully automated chemical-free system, which contains automatic backwashing depth filtration and powerful UV disinfection, will enable FSUE Rosmorport to meet ballast water treatment regulations associated with the ballast water convention, introduced by the International Maritime Organisation in 2004 to address the control and spread of invasive aquatic species via ships’ ballast water and sediments.

FSUE Rosmorport operates one of the largest icebreaker fleets in the world which is used to assist vessels in winter navigation in most Russian seaports.
