BV classes first Bangladeshi ferry for Denmark
The Isefjord is a 147 passenger vessel built by Western Marine Shipyard Ltd in Chittagong, Bangladesh. It has recently been delivered to its new Danish owner, Hundested Rorvig Faergefart A/S. It will fly the Danish flag and operate in Danish waters.
Measuring in at 51m in length, the double ended ferry can also carry 28 vehicles. It is fully automated and can be operated by just two crew. It’s fitted out with two main propulsion systems consisting of azimuth thrusters at both ends, two remote control systems and two engine rooms.
Isefjord has an optimised hull design which results in significantly improved efficiency, while an ICCP and ICAF system prevents hull erosion and marine growth.
