CMA vessels to get the Damen treatment

Under the contract, the Damen shipyard will also carry out a special survey on the vessels, Fort Ste Marie and Fort St Louis, during dry docking.

Together with CMA CGM, Damen has established a plan which provides the shortest possible dry docking time while ensuring the lowest costs to keep within the company’s restricted budget.

Jos Goris, managing director, Damen Shiprepair Brest, said: “We are very pleased with this order of the French company CMA CGM. We are fully aware of the operational challenges the container shipping companies are currently facing.”

A similar arrangement for two more CMA CGM vessels, Fort St Pierre and Fort St George, has also been discussed.
