The vessels will be equipped with Stadt's disel electric propulsion systems

The vessels have been designed by Skipstenknisk to operate safely in severe conditions in some of the earth’s most remote places and will be equipped with Stadt’s No-Loss AC drive diesel electric propulsion systems.

Stadt’s noise free technology offers a number of environmental benefits, including fuel savings and emission reductions. It also enables different fuel types to be used onboard including HFO, MDO, MGO and LNG, as well as fuel cell and battery technologies in different combinations.

The company will also design the fully integrated system solution for the new vessels, which will offer more space while reducing weight and power loss. The system includes the main switchboards, Stadt Stascho drives, propulsion motors and power management systems.

The vessels will be chartered by Petroleum Geological Services (PSG) in Oslo and will be built by Besiktas shipyard in Turkey.

Hallvard Slettevoll, managing director of Stadt says the company expects further growth in this area of the market.
