Cochin PSV delivered to Liberia
This is the first of a series of four similar vessels being built for the same client.
The vessels are of PSV 05L CD type, designed by Vard Group AS, Norway, and are classed under the rules and regulations of Det Norske Veritas (DNV).
Sea Tantalus measures in at 82.2 x 17.00 x 7.60m and is a high end diesel electric PSV equipped with four 1200 KW diesel generator sets and two 1600 KW input power azimuth thrusters.
Its been assigned the ‘Clean Design’ notation by DNV signalling the highest levels of environmental compliance. This is the first ship built by CSL to be equipped with a ballast water treatment solution to prevent and ultimately eliminate risks to the environment arising from the transfer of harmful aquatic organisms and pathogens.
Sea Tantalus has accommodation for 28 persons also meets the requirements of COMF class meaning that it has attained high comfort levels and very low levels of noise and vibration.
It has fire fighting capability to meet FIRE FIGHTER-1 notation and the OILREC notation which means that it can also act as an oil recovery vessel in event of an oil spill.
The vessels will be used as supporting platforms to rigs and oil platforms.
