The Bourbon Liberty 151 is an extension of the successful 100 build. The 151 is extremely well suited to drilling operations and has a larger deck space (an increase of 30% on the 100 build) of up to 400sqm and a larger capacity for both bulk and liquid.

It’s equipped with a dynamic positioning 2 (DP2) system, five thrusters, three main generators and diesel electric propulsion – this makes it extremely versatile for both deep sea and shallow water operations.

Gaël Bodénès, chief operating officer, Bourbon, said: “Bourbon Liberty’s success confirms Bourbon’s unique fleet strategy, supported by built in series vessels, diesel electric propulsion and dynamic positioning class 2.”

Bourbon has been investing in its extensive range of vessels since 2008. The company has recently taken delivery of its last Bourbon Liberty 200 vessel and its first Bourbon Liberty 300 vessel.

By the end of 2014, the group is aiming to be able to have 111 innovative vessels on its books devoted to offshore activities – there are already 85 operating worldwide.
