The vessels, of about 250m length oa, are designed to carry up to 112,000t of petroleum products and crude oil, and are scheduled to be delivered between the second quarter of 2015 and the first quarter of 2016.

DMHI was set up in 1997 as a joint venture between DSME of Korea and the Romanian state-owned ‘2 Mai’ Mangalia Shipyard. Since then, the company says that it has delivered more than 130 vessels and other products, and gained a good reputation in repair and conversion. s well as other offshore and steel structure products. Up to now, newbuildings have mainly been for the bulker and container markets, though in 2012 DMHI won an order for two PCTCs from Ocean Yield of Norway. The order for product tankers is said to be a further step towards the yard’s aim to diversify, with the full support of SDSME.
