Special Remora vessel to operate in Brazil

The vessel will commence operation later in 2013 and will be operated by Teekay, which is themain shareholder in Remora.

HiLoad DP is a self-propelled unit that can attach itself to any type of tanker, to give the tanker full DP capability and thus keep it at a safe distance from the production unit during loading or offloading, with no special requirements or equipment needed for the tankers.

HiLoad DP is classed by DNV as a vessel in its own right, under class notation +1A1 R Mobile Offshore Support Unit DYNPOS-AUTR. It has its own diesel engines, thusters and DP 2+ compliant positioning system. It can operate the tanker without any assistance from tugs or anchor handling vessels.
