Triplex contract with BOA Offshore

The MDH 42 will be used by BOA on its new anchor handling tug supply vessel (AHTS), designed by Wärtsilä. The MDH system features a range of AHTS equipment, designed for maximum safety for the ‘deck hands’. The range includes a separate wire clamp for controlled spin out of twisted wires, a dedicated manipulator arm for fine operations, two cameras, floodlights and different manipulator tools.

The MDH version for BOA will be prepared for the Triplex 5ft Tractioner, said to offer efficient handling of polyester mooring lines up to 260mm.

Even Kippernes, offshore sales manager, Triplex, said: “We are delighted that BOA has chosen Triplex deck equipment for its new AHTS vessels. The Triplex MDH can lift, move and park heavy anchors up to 42 tonnes and pull heavy chains and grappling hooks weighting up to 30 tonnes. This is the ultimate deck equipment for anchor handlers.

The contract also includes shark jaws, vertical guide pins and a spooling block.

Delivery is scheduled for January 2014.
