Dubai repair centre opens

The new premises are sited in Dubai Maritime City (DMC), a mixed-use development for maritime business. The 2.27million m2 DMC is sited on a man-made peninsula, strategically located between Port Rashid and Drydocks World – Dubai. Facilities include ship repair plots, yacht manufacturing workshops, warehouses, industrial workshops, retail shops, showrooms and catering establishments. The marine operational facilities include two ship lifts, of 6,000t and 3,000t, and a total of 42 berths equipped with permanent facilities.

The Goltens Worldwide group of companies, currently located at 21 locations around the world, offers specialist diesel and in situ repair and maintenance services for the marine, offshore and stationary power markets. The new 100,000ft2 specialist diesel and mechanical repair and docking facility in DMC is described as offering the latest technology and processes. The facility serves the marine, offshore and industrial markets in the UAE and the rest of the Middle East, and offers support for other Goltens locations.
