Höegh FLNG wins pre-FEED study
The contract for the study, which is being carried out for a North American LNG export project, is worth around US$5m and is expected to be completed by mid December 2013.
Sveinung J S Støhle, chairman, Höegh FLNG, said: “We are pleased to be awarded this pre-FEED study and are confident that the results will show that our barge based FLNG designs will give our client a safe, technically sound and cost efficient solution for exports of LNG from the North American continent.”
The company says it will design a 2m tonnes per annum FLNG solution to a level which allows the client from a technical point of view to enter FEED stage. It will use engineering, construction and services company, KBR, as a subcontractor on topside and hull design.
Höegh told The Motorship the pre-FEED study includes a FEED phase proposal, giving the potential for a full FEED in the first quarter of 2014.
