Exhaust emissions added to cloud-based remote monitoring

The Emsys emissions monitoring system is now included in the collection of shipboard equipment and systems that are monitored and analyzed by OstiaEdge, including engines, generators, fuel meters, torque meters, ballast systems and navigation systems. By including emissions into total vessel monitoring and analytics, ESRG claims to offer operators, managers and owners greater insight into how their engines and generators are performing from both fuel efficiency and environmental compliance perspectives. The company says that the combination of emissions data and engine performance analytics can be used to tune engines and generators for the optimum balance between emissions compliance and fuel efficiency.

WR Systems’ Emsys equipment is installed within the funnel space, to monitor up to 10 exhaust stacks for emissions (NOx, SOx and CO2) and PM sampling. Monitoring for optional gases such as CO and CH4 is also available. A GPS interface allows geographical position recording to demostrate compliance within ECA zones. OstiaEdge is a monitoring and analytics platform that enables owners, managers and operators to automatically monitor and analyze the performance and health of shipboard equipment. It offers visibility of the state of shipboard equipment from anywhere, including mobile devices, by collecting, validating and analysing data onboard the vessel and sending the results to cloud-based remote data centres to provide remote access.
