Simulation centre receives official certification
According to VStep, certification allows TU Varna to provide maritime training which complies in full with the latest STCW and IMO regulations. All of the simulators at the TU Varna centre, including engine room simulators and Nautis FMB and Desktop simulators, were supplied by VStep. Approved training courses at TU Varna now include bridge team and resource management, ECDIS training, Engine Team Resource management and GMDSS.
Nautis is the name of VStep’s latest maritime training simulators, encompassing a range from desktop trainers to full mission bridge simulators. The range has been certified by DNV for full compliance to latest IMO standards. VStep chief technical officer Pjotr van Schothorst said: “The official certification of the TU Varna simulation center by the Maritime Administration is a confirmation of the high quality training value and the realism that NAUTIS simulators have to offer.”
