Electric boiler for Farstad PSV

The 1,250kW system to be delivered by Parat is a combined hot water and steam boiler, the delivery of which will include all necessary equipment for tank heating (fulfilling the NOFO 2009 requirements) and hot water supply for the ship’s central heating and domestic water.

Parat says that its MEL-C Electric boiler design has become popular among PSV ship builders, not only for the dual hot water/ steam system possibilities, but also because, in comparison with oil-fired boilers, it offers compact size, no need for fuel lines, no pipe stack, easy regulation, no noise and lower maintenance.

The system will be installed onboard Vard’s NB792, to be built at the Vang Tau yard in Vietnam, to the Vard 1 08 design, scheduled for delivery to Farstad Shipping in Autumn 2014.
