Seventh LNG carrier repair for Damen

The Hydroc Shipping owned and managed vessel for close to a month because the work scope is extensive and reached nearly 30,000 man hours.

Jos Goris, managing director, Damen Shiprepair Brest, said: “The yard’s workforce has shown their LNG skills and experience previously in executing secure works on LNG contracts.”

He pointed out that the efforts of the yard to improve its efficiency including obtaining the LRQA ISO 9001:2008 certificate have all helped to acquire these contracts during competitive times.

DSB has become well known for its LNG tanker expertise and is a well established repair yard. Its largest dry dock measure 420 x 80m and is one of the biggest in Europe. It allows the yard to accommodate almost any size vessel.
